Fun Monday

The wonderful Church Lady is hosting this weeks Fun Monday.

Her assignment:

How do you beat the doldrums when you are stuck in the house either because it is too cold or too hot outside? Do you read? Cook? Complete a home improvement project? Watch movies? Scrapbook? Please share your ideas.

What I do is Cross Stitch. Do scrapbooking a little bit, but cross stitching is my favorite!! I love to cross stitch. Did I mention to you cross stitch?? My family knows that it just my "thing".
From previous post there are pics of what I am working on or have completed.

This is what I am working on. It will be a heart ornament for Valentine's Day.

This is Spring Queen by Mirabilia. I started stitching on her arm today!

This is a bowl my son made for me at school. He made it to hold my stitching stuff. How cool is that?? :D It holds my cool reading glasses that are in the case. My favorite Gingher Stork scissors. My pink pencil and pen.

You may notice my pink Nintendo DS game bag. I got this for my birthday from Robocop. I have wanted a Nintendo DSi forever. He got me the hot pink one, so of course the matching bag and matching game cases. :D This is how I been getting through the "doldrums".

I wish I had the patience to do that! I'm afraid I just have a hard time sitting long enough to complete something like that. Perhaps one day!

I would be a CROSS stitch. ha ha. Anything that has to do with needles and thread makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Giggle.

Cross stitching makes me cross too, tho' I have 2 or 3 unfinished projects still to complete. Might take one with me next time we go to the caravan but I'll need to find my reading glasses lol.
Am computer literate, but, it must be a generation thing as I've yet to understand gadjets such a Nintendo (smile)
Loved reading your post, thanks for sharing.

I'd love to try it. Probably wouldn't end up looking like anything, but I love playing with needles. Your work is beautiful.

I love to cross stitch, especially to do gifts for the holiday, but having a toddler around means a big no-no. Once we have our house, there's a chance we will be able to shut off a room for 'dangerous!' projects, but for now, I'm stuck with a book or the pc!

My best friend is a champion cross stitcher as well--she does the extra fine cloth. Me, I can cross stitch but can't see well enough to work on the sampler weave fabric which is what I admire. In June my friend is going on a cross stitch cruise with stops in Italy and Spain. Can you imagine? Think you better book too! :-)

Your cross stitching is beautiful! It is so intricate and detailed. I never learned how to do that. In fact, I can barely sew on a button. It certainly is a nice hobby to work on when you are stuck in the house.

Lovely stitching! After posting the other day I also felt the urge to pull out my stitching and do a little. I have not had a lot of time where I can focus on it, hence the reason I have been knitting instead. It takes far less concentration.
