Fun Monday

The wonderful Church Lady is hosting this weeks Fun Monday.

Her assignment:

How do you beat the doldrums when you are stuck in the house either because it is too cold or too hot outside? Do you read? Cook? Complete a home improvement project? Watch movies? Scrapbook? Please share your ideas.

What I do is Cross Stitch. Do scrapbooking a little bit, but cross stitching is my favorite!! I love to cross stitch. Did I mention to you cross stitch?? My family knows that it just my "thing".
From previous post there are pics of what I am working on or have completed.

This is what I am working on. It will be a heart ornament for Valentine's Day.

This is Spring Queen by Mirabilia. I started stitching on her arm today!

This is a bowl my son made for me at school. He made it to hold my stitching stuff. How cool is that?? :D It holds my cool reading glasses that are in the case. My favorite Gingher Stork scissors. My pink pencil and pen.

You may notice my pink Nintendo DS game bag. I got this for my birthday from Robocop. I have wanted a Nintendo DSi forever. He got me the hot pink one, so of course the matching bag and matching game cases. :D This is how I been getting through the "doldrums".

New Drool and New Want for a New Start

I love Mirabilia Designs. I always have and I have a few of her charts. Her newest design is a lovely one called Sabrina. She is just beautiful. Some have said she is too thin or her neck is so long. I like her anyway. This is what Nora Corbett the designer and Mirabilia herself said about her newest release.

My newest cross stitch goddess is inspired by old black and white movie glamour and celebrates the perfection of onscreen couture. Velvety charcoal embroidery drapes a sea of satin, sprinkled with crystal stars in this elegant and luscious design.

Like with most of her designs Mill Hill Beads, Mill Hill Treasures, Kreinik Metallic threads, and Caron Waterlilies.

I can't wait to get her and all the goodies and have a new Mirabilia start.

Grrrrrr

I think I only have one or two people left to comment on for their first monday. Me and blogger are not getting along. I have tried to get to blogs and make comments but something always goes wrong. LOL Taken me days to get done what should only take a minute.

Then again it might be just me. LOL

Fun Monday

Is being hosted by Sayre Smiles. The assignment: Awards season is here! SAG, People's Choice, and the biggie - the OSCARS!

Let us participate in our own Fun Monday-sort of way. I want you to think about the movies that you OWN. Not movies you've seen, but the ones you felt strongly enough to go out and buy. You will be your very own awards committee, awarding your movies an Oscar in the following categories:

BEST PICTURE
BEST ACTOR
BEST ACTRESS
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
BEST ANIMATED PICTURE
BEST SCORE
BEST GROUP (Some movies come out with several parts or sequels. Most everyone's got at least one set of something on their shelves - why that one?)

You can include your nominations if you wish, but I'd also like to know why you think your winner in each category deserves to win.

So head over to Sayre Smiles and sign up for Fun Monday.

Completions

Some things I did complete this past year.

A small altoid tin cover. It holds my paper clips.

This is a tin topper I made for a tin that holds my pens and pencils with my stitching stash.

My Gingher scissor tin cover. It has my favorite Gingher scissors that are stars and stripes.

This was a gift for my sister. She loves pigs. This was a San Man design. I think it is just tooooooo cute.

This I made as a Christmas gift for my brother and his wife. I stayed up late the night before finishing this one up. It turned out pretty I think. I hope they really did like it. So many hours put into this sucker. lol

Halloween finishes

Want to see my Boo Bees?

This is a San Man design. I stitched this up for Court Jester 1(daughter) and the Queen Mother(my mom).

Southern Magnolias

Southern Magnolias by Leisure Arts. It is the Magnolia Centerpiece. Stitched on 32 count Lugana. The color is called "Creekstone" and it is from Silkweaver. I love their fabric!

I know it is a shocker that it is NOT a Mirabilia Design. But hey, I like many things.

I had stopped stitching on this to work on some Halloween ornies and Christmas stuff. Holiday stitching was calling to be more important. Now I can get back to stitching for me for a bit. SM is calling loud to me. lol

Under The Friendship Tree

Yes ANOTHER Mira Design. lol
I have done very little on this one. Been busy with Spring Queen.

Under The Friendship Tree is stitched Silkweaver's "Spring Garden" 32 count Jobelan. I love this evenweave. So very soft and the colors are soft and yet add to the design without over power it.

First progress pic

Second progress pic....yes laugh. I know it is not much. lol

Spring Queen

Another Mirabilia Design I started. I love the Queen series. :D So here is some progress on Spring Queen.

This is the first picture of progress.

Second pic taken of progress.

Third pic taking of small amount of progress.

The fourth picture taken of progress. I am LOVING how she is turning out. Stitching SQ on 32 count Jobelan. I ordered the evenweave from Silkweaver and the color is called "Carol's Meadow".

Autumn Queen

Autumn Queen is stitched on 28 count Jobelan and the color is called English Rose. It is so much prettier in person. The photo just does not capture the true color.

First Pic

Second Pic

I have worked a little on Autumn Queen by Mirabilia Designs. I have not stitch much more on her because I have stitched on other things. I do LOVE Mirabilia!!!

Lara's Loose Threads

I found this blog yesterday. I LOVE it. She does wonderful work. Drooling still.

Starting over

I am starting blogging again and I am starting fresh. So this will be fun.
